Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time in Lansing, MI. This role offers reliable, scheduled hours at a fixed site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

You will provide customer service, enforce access control, respond to incidents, and patrol healthcare locations, with a six‑month anchor shift commitment and opportunities to grow toward a full‑time schedule.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as per federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screening may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization and credentials, manage visitor entry, and maintain accurate access‑related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the healthcare location, including entrances, restricted areas, and the perimeter, to help identify and report security‑related concerns.
• Assist with directing visitors and maintaining orderly access at assigned posts while communicating professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
