Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Charlottesville, VA to provide dependable, flexible hours at an assigned site with opportunities to earn more by picking up additional shifts. The role pays $18.27 per hour and offers a fixed anchor shift plus a buy-up shift program.

The position emphasizes customer service, security procedures, and incident response, with potential for growth toward a full-time schedule up to 40 hours/week. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific policies, security-related procedures, and emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, perimeter areas, and utility-related infrastructure to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, maintain visitor and contractor records, and report unauthorized entry attempts.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal leadership and site management.
