Job summary

Allied Universal in Baltimore, MD is seeking a part-time Security Officer for Screening Services to provide guest and crew screening at the site. You will maintain site policies, perform access checks, and respond to incidents with professional, calm actions.

The role offers fixed anchor shifts with optional additional shifts through our scheduling platform, enabling you to earn more while maintaining balance with a flexible work schedule.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, crew members, and visitors by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cruise terminal and/or vessel access point.
• Screen passengers, visitors, crew, baggage, packages, and personal items using assigned screening equipment and established procedures.
• Verify credentials, boarding documents, and authorized access permissions; report discrepancies and prohibited items according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting relevant information.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, access points, and surrounding locations to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
