Job summary

DK Security is seeking a part-time Uniformed Security Officer in Big Rapids, MI. You will guard posts, patrol grounds, and ensure a safe environment while delivering outstanding customer service.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to de-escalate situations, and the capacity to pass a background check and drug screening. Experience in security is preferred, and candidates should be able to work 8–12 hour shifts, indoors or outdoors, in all seasons.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Armed security requires 21+ with a Michigan CPL or LEOSA.
• Must pass a drug screening at hire and periodically thereafter.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
• Able to move quickly, including running short distances.
• Able to sit, stand and walk 8–12 hours shifts.
• Able to work indoors or outdoors in all seasons.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds (70 lbs for armed) and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Guard posts at entry/exit points of client buildings and grounds.
• Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols to ensure a safe environment.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Check IDs of employees, vendors, and visitors.
• Look for suspicious people, packages, and activities.
• Follow site-specific post guidelines and document daily activities.
• Report incidents and perform other duties as assigned.
