Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle is seeking a Part Time Seasonal Host for The George Restaurant. You will greet guests, manage reservations, and coordinate seating to deliver a warm, luxury dining experience.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in high-volume service and strong interpersonal skills. This seasonal position runs through January 1, 2027, with competitive hourly pay and staff dining benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of high-volume restaurant serving experience preferred.
• Must hold valid authorization to work in the USA.
• Food Handlers Card and MAST permit required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, creating a positive first impression of the restaurant.
• Manage the reservation system, taking bookings and recording details accurately.
• Seat guests promptly, considering special requests and preferences.
• Communicate with guests regarding wait times, menus, and promotions.
• Maintain a clean host/hostess station and keep menus/promotions up to date.
• Collaborate with waitstaff and kitchen to ensure smooth seating and turnover.
• Monitor dining room flow to ensure attentive service for all guests.
• Address inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly, escalating when needed.
• Assist with coordinating private dining events and special occasions.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and restaurant policies.
• Maintain knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the reservation system, taking guest bookings and accurately recording details
• Seat guests promptly and appropriately, considering special requests and preferences
• Communicate with guests regarding wait times, menu information, and restaurant promotions
• Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station, ensuring menus and promotional materials are up to date
• Collaborate with the waitstaff and kitchen team to ensure smooth seating and efficient table turnover
• Monitor and manage the dining room flow, ensuring all guests receive attentive service
• Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly, escalating issues when necessary
• Assist with coordinating private dining events and special occasions
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and restaurant policies
• Maintaining knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent required
