Job summary

ArtsQuest is seeking a Part-Time Seasonal Festival Beverage Server to provide outstanding customer service by serving beverages to patrons at Musikfest and other festivals. This role requires a friendly demeanor, verification of IDs, and cash handling capabilities. Candidates must be able to lift moderate weights and work in various outdoor conditions. The position involves shifts from 11 AM to 11:30 PM during festival days, with training required prior to the event.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years required.
• Friendly, personable, and excellent communication skills essential.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally is necessary.
• Previous experience with cash registers and cash handling is a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods required.

Job description

Part‑Time Seasonal Festival Beverage Server / Register Operator

Provide exceptional customer service to festival patrons. Serve alcoholic beverages from mobile carts to patrons at Musikfest and other festivals at various venues.

Essential Functions

• Customer Service – Serve patrons in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Verify patrons’ ID to ensure they are of legal drinking age.
• Use judgment to stop service if a patron has had too much alcohol.
• Maintain beverage supplies on cart.
• Maintain a clean work and service area.
• Order beverages/supplies with assistance from Beverage Supervisors as needed.
• Operate cash register and handle cash – ring up sales, give receipt, count change.
• Process credit cards – enter information, give receipt, keep record receipt.
• Climb and descend party deck steps safely before and during performances.
• Take beverage orders, collect payment, visit supply areas to fulfill orders.
• Deliver beverage orders to patrons in party decks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Physical Abilities Required

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Friendly, personable, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Previous cash register and cash handling experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to climb stairs repeatedly and carry beverage orders.
• Ability to walk, stoop, bend.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Dates / Hours of Operation

Must be available to work between 11 AM and 11:30 PM every day of the festival: August 4 – 15 , 2021.
Training dates: July 19 – August 3 , 2021.
Fest preparation: Monday July 26 – Thursday August 4 between 9 AM and 5 PM.
Musicfest: August 5 – 15 , 2021.
Typical shifts: 11:30 AM–5:30 PM and 5 PM–11:30 PM.
Tear down: week of August 16 – 20.
