Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory in Indiana is seeking an Angel Tree Coordinator to lead the Angel Tree program, coordinate volunteers, and oversee donations, packing, and distribution for families in need.

You will recruit volunteers, manage applications, and collaborate with partners to ensure accurate tagging, timely packing, and smooth distribution of gifts. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks required; results reviewed.
• 1–2 years experience planning and organizing large social services events preferred.
• Valid driver's license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Recruit volunteers to take applications.
• Organize and implement the application dates.
• Enter applications into the computer program.
• Develop and utilize spreadsheets to detail applicants.
• Verify applications with other organizations to avoid duplicates.
• Create an Angel Tree tag for each child.
• Contact businesses and organizations to determine interest in taking tags.
• Maintain trees at various business and organizations.
• Accept, receipt, and log all donations.
• Recruit and schedule volunteers to accept donations after office hours.
• Recruit and schedule volunteers to help with preparation and packing.
• Implement the packing and organization of all donated items for families.
• Work with Marine Corps Toys for Tots representative to secure necessary toys.
• Recruit and schedule volunteers to help with distribution.
• Implement the distribution of donated items and coordinate the distribution.
• Organize clean-up of distribution.
• Pack, label, and store remaining items for future use.
• Other tasks as assigned by leadership.
