Lone Star College-Montgomery in Conroe, TX is seeking a Part-Time Scribe/Reader to provide reader/scribe services in lectures, discussions, and tests, promoting students' right to communication equity in the classroom. The role performs note-taking, test writing, relays information, supports faculty and students, and uses adaptive technology and media conversion to support learning.

Hours vary by department needs, including potential evenings and weekends; requires a high school diploma or GED

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to take accurate notes and dictate clearly.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends.

Responsabilités

• Takes lecture notes/dictation for students in class settings.
• Fills-in and writes-out test answers for students.
• Takes student work and verbally relays information in class.
• Maintains professional boundaries in class and during tests.
• Supports faculty and students' rights to communication equity.
• Learns to use adaptive technology to students.
• Converts and edits academic media.
• Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned.
