Job summary

Lone Star College-CyFair is seeking a Part Time Scribe/Reader to provide note-taking and dictation services for in-class lectures, discussions, and tests. The role promotes communication equity and supports students in a dynamic classroom setting.

Responsibilities include taking notes, relaying information, and adapting to various classroom technologies while maintaining professional boundaries. Evening/Weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to take clear and accurate notes at a reasonable speed.
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Take lecture notes/dictation for students in classroom settings.
• Fill-in and write-out test answers for students.
• Take student work and verbally relay information in classroom settings.
• Maintain professional boundaries in class and during tests.
• Support and promote rights to communication equity in the classroom.
• Learn to use adaptive technology for students.
• Convert and edit academic media.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
