Job summary

Lone Star College seeks a Part Time Scribe/Reader to provide Reader/Scribe services in classrooms, supporting students’ communication equity. You’ll take notes, relay information, and assist with tests and assignments.

Responsibilities include using adaptive tech, editing media, and collaborating with faculty to ensure accessible learning environments. Evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Take lecture notes/dictation for students in class settings.
• Fill-in and write-out test answers as instructed.
• Relay verbally information from students in class.
• Maintain professional boundaries during class and tests.
• Support rights to communication equity in classroom and work environments.
• Learn and use adaptive technology for students.
• Convert and edit academic media as needed.
