The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students in West Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Part Time Van Driver to transport students on scheduled routes and field trips. You will ensure vehicle safety, complete required paperwork, and support student safety during loading and unloading.

Ideal candidates communicate well with parents and staff, follow safety protocols, and perform routine vehicle maintenance and duty-related tasks. This role is non-CDL and requires reliability on school grounds and routes.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow school safety rules and state transportation requirements.
• Ability to lift and secure equipment and assist with loading/unloading if needed.
• Must communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Must be able to drive non-CDL school vehicles and complete route documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepares documentation for mileage, condition, incidents, and reports.
• Drives district vehicles to transport students on scheduled routes and field trips.
• Assesses incidents and emergencies to determine resolutions.
• Communicates with parents, students, teachers, and dispatchers.
• Fuels and performs pre-trip inspections to ensure safety.
• Provides first aid as necessary.
• Maintains and cleans assigned vehicles.
• Uses crisis prevention techniques when needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
