PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND POSITION OVERVIEW
The Facilities Associate is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the physical facilities in the buildings of Global Community Charter School. The Facilities Associate will work with the janitorial and security staff to identify facilities-related requirements and propose and manage cost-effective solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Promotes a healthy and positive culture by fostering optimum facilities and services.
- Monitors fire and HVAC inspections, equipment audits, and building inspections, and creates action plans to address these findings.
- Monitors time and materials, scheduling, and tracking of all maintenance-related issues and repairs.
- Provides direct oversight of all repair, maintenance, and special project analysis and decisions.
- Manages contractors’ visits and services, including those of general contractors, plumbers, electricians, HVAC specialists, locksmiths, alarm security systems, roofers, etc.
- Tracks and reports the status of open projects.
- Creates and builds preventative maintenance processes and monitoring systems for the extended life of facility-related components.
- Maintains and monitors building compliance with building codes & standards for local, city, county, state, and federal agencies.
- Ensures adherence to OSHA and maximum safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as delegated by Principals and GCCS Leaders. Provide administrative support to enable the facilities department to function effectively and efficiently by following federal and state laws, as well as company policies.
- Carries out weekly walk rounds, ensuring that building fabric is in good order, noting any defects, and coordinates follow-up on action items.
- Reviews and makes recommendations to maintain building integrity, and maintains accurate records as required.
- Liaises with building contractors to follow through on approved work and engineering inspectors to ensure compliance.
- Place inventory and supply orders as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree.
- Technical training in building maintenance or a minimum of three to five years of progressive experience and responsibility in a maintenance field, two of which were holding a supervisory position directing a multifunctional maintenance staff.
- Certificate of Fitness for Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems and Other Related Systems, Certificate of Fire and Emergency Drill Conductor preferred
- Proficient in using and developing Excel spreadsheets.
- Certified CPR holders preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus
