Job summary

Soliant is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT services in a secondary education setting near Newport News, VA. This part-time role runs three days per week, supporting students and collaborating with teachers and families to promote functional independence and academic participation.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of school-based OT assessment, intervention strategies, and compliance with IEP processes

• Strong organizational skills and confidence managing multiple student cases

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy services to students in secondary grade levels, supporting their access to the educational curriculum
• Evaluate students and develop individualized treatment plans in alignment with IEP objectives
• Collaborate regularly with educators, support staff, and parents to ensure integrated support for students
• Document progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
• Provide consultative services to classroom staff on strategies to promote functional independence
• Participate in ongoing professional development to remain abreast of best practices in school-based occupational therapy
