Job summary

Cabarrus County Schools is seeking a part-time School Nutrition Program Probationary Assistant in Kannapolis, NC. This 4.0-hour-per-day position involves food preparation, serving, cashier duties, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment.

The role is non-exempt with starting date TBD. Typical tasks include cashiering, fruit prep, salad prep, and daily records, under SNP supervision.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED/HiSET desired.
General kitchen experience.
Ability to adjust to new and changing situations.
Ability to get along well with others.
Ability to assist in creating an inviting atmosphere for customers and staff.
Ability to read and write.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work quickly with hands and complete assignments in time allotted.

Responsibilities

Serves as a cashier
Washes and wraps fresh fruit; measures and cups canned fruit.
Washes and measures ingredients for salads.
Prepares specialty fruit and assists in vegetable preparation.
Prepares food for next day; cleans and sanitizes work area.
Counts money for petty cash, opens register, and reconciles register at end of day.
Prepares food, washes dishes, cleans up kitchen area.
Serves food.
Operates and cleans equipment, including dish room.
Completes daily records.
Stocks food and supplies.
