Job summary

Heritage High School seeks a School Nutrition Associate (4 Hours) to support the lunch program by preparing and serving food and keeping the kitchen and service area orderly. Training is provided; the role requires standing for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with attention to safety and sanitation.

The position is part-time, located at Heritage High School in Lynchburg, and reports to the Site Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required; experience with food services and/or school nutrition programs preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to follow basic math and sanitation procedures.
• Willingness to learn prescribed food preparation methods and cafeteria operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cooking, serving and cleaning duties as assigned by the Manager.
• Help organize and maintain the inventory system for food and supplies.
• Follow all local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Deliver professional customer service and adhere to School Board policies.
