Job summary

King Elementary in King, NC is seeking a part-time School Nutrition Assistant to support the School Nutrition Manager in daily kitchen operations. The position covers 4 hours per day (20 hours per week) for 10 months, with partial benefits, and may involve cooking, serving, cashiering, and record keeping.

Responsibilities include food preparation, portion control, maintaining food safety and HACCP standards, ordering supplies, and assisting with NSLP compliance at the point of sale.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in the preparation of foods in an institutional setting or childcare.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing routine tasks such as food preparation, serving, cleaning, and sanitation.
• Provide oversight of kitchen operations and ensure compliance with NSLP and health/safety standards.
• May serve as cashier or back up during breakfast or lunch serving periods and assist with record-keeping and order management.
