Job summary

Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union (RNESU) is seeking Substitute School Nurses for the 2026–2027 school year in Brandon, Vermont. They will provide nursing coverage when regular staff are absent, supporting student health and safety and administering medications as authorized.

Qualified applicants hold a Vermont RN or LPN license in good standing; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. Collaboration with families, staff, and healthcare providers is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN or LPN license in good standing.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred.
• School nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with students, families, faculty and staff.
• Strong communication, organization, judgment, and confidentiality skills.
• Ability to respond calmly to a variety of student health needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing coverage for RNESU schools when regular nursing staff are absent.
• Support health, safety, and well-being of students; administer medications and treatments as authorized.
