Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time School Staff Nurse to provide school health services for students within a 30-mile radius of home. Responsibilities include direct clinical care, student record maintenance, and collaboration with families and school personnel.

Minimum requirements include a BSN or near completion, RN licensure, and BLS certification; 1–2 years healthcare experience preferred. Onsite position with MS Office proficiency expected.

Qualifications

• BSN required or to be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Registered Nurse licensure required.
• 1–2 years healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides school health services as directed by department and contracts.
• Provides clinical care including routine, special needs, and emergency first aid.
• Maintains student health records and documents services rendered.
• Participates in department and hospital education efforts.
• Communicates with management, parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied personnel.
• Addresses physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Ensures compliance with departmental/school/state/federal policies and HR guidelines.
• Performs other duties as required.
