Job summary

Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 is seeking a .4 FTE School Nurse to provide 1:1 student support at Grande Reserve Elementary School, working Tuesdays and Fridays. The role involves managing health records, administering medications, and collaborating with staff and families.

The nurse will participate in IEP-related health planning, ensure confidentiality, and provide emergency care as needed, under Illinois guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Certified School Nurse endorsement preferred, but not required.
• Experience managing school health records including immunizations and physicals.
• Ability to collaborate with administrators, teachers and families.

Responsibilities

• Manages school health records in accordance with Illinois law and maintains confidentiality.
• Develops and monitors a medication protocol for in-school use.
• Provides direct nursing services, first aid, illness and emergency care; includes documentation.
• Liaises between home, school and community health agencies to promote student health.
• Participates in multidisciplinary teams to develop health components of IEPs and accommodations.
