Qualifications

• RN with current Illinois license in good standing.
• BSN may be required depending on assignment.
• Knowledge of the ANA Code of Ethics and the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen Policy and Procedures.
• Recent experience as a registered nurse (new grads included).
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and maintain records accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct professional nursing services including medication administration and first aid.
• Assess student health issues and respond to emergencies per standards.
• Maintain daily electronic log of student injuries and illnesses.
• Coordinate with home and school to promote student health and safety.
• Follow IDPH rules on immunizations, screenings and health records.
• Administer daily and PRN medications and educate students on proper use.
