Job summary

Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 is seeking a School Nurse for 1:1 student support at Grande Reserve Elementary School. The role is 0.4 FTE, with work on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The nurse will manage health records, develop health policies, and coordinate medication protocols while maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with staff, parents, and health agencies to support student well-being.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license (RN) required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Certification as a School Nurse preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manages school health records in accordance with Illinois School Student Records Act.
• Develops and implements health policies and procedures.
• Develops and monitors medication protocol for safe storage, administration and disposal of medications at school.
• Maintains medical records for immunizations, physicals, and conditions.
• Communicates with administrators, teachers, and parents to address health and safety needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of health information.
• Provides direct nursing services, first aid, illness and emergency care, and documentation.
• Delivers health information and counseling to students, parents, and staff.
• Participates in the multidisciplinary team for IEP health components and accommodations.
