Job summary

Massillon City Schools is seeking an Assistant Cook for the Massillon Intermediate & Junior High Building. Schedule is 11:00 am - 2:00 PM with a pay rate of $13.81/hr. Reports to the Building Principal/Designee and a deadline of "Until filled".

Shall assist Head Cook and follow directions from the Food Service Supervisor, preparing healthy meals and maintaining sanitation standards. Incumbent may assume Head Cook duties during absence and must present neat appearance with cooperative conduct.

Qualifications

• A working knowledge of food preparation, equipment operation, serving, cleaning, portion control
• Cash register and bookkeeping experience is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Shall follow directions from Head Cook and Food Service Supervisor
• Prepare food that is healthy, nutritious and tasty
• Use appropriate portion sizes for each meal component
• Perform and carry through any food/meal prep, serving and cleaning duties
• Follow sanitation standards set by Health Department
• Operate Point of Sale system as needed
• Attend meetings or in-services when required by Supervisor
• Take over Head Cook responsibilities during Head Cook's absence (by seniority)
• Be neat and clean in appearance
• Work cooperatively to create a good working environment for students, staff, co-workers and public
• Perform other tasks designated by Head Cook, building Principal or Food Service Supervisor
