You will work under the Head Cook and Food Service Supervisor, ensuring nutritious meals, proper portions, and sanitation. The position is open until filled, with an immediate starting date.

The job requires a high school diploma or GED; prior food service exposure and cash register experience are useful. Expect to work per building schedule and possibly travel between sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• A working knowledge of food preparation and equipment operation is expected.
• Cash register and bookkeeping experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Shall serve as an assistant and follow direction from the Head Cook and Food Service Supervisor.
• Prepare food that is healthy, nutritious and tasty.
• Use appropriate portion sizes for each meal component.
• Perform and carry through meal prep, serving and cleaning duties.
• Follow sanitation standards set by the Health Department.
• Operate Point of Sales System as needed.
• Attend meetings or in‑services when required by Supervisor.
• Take over Head Cook responsibilities during Head Cook’s absence.
