Job summary

Danville Community School District is seeking a Food Service - Dishwasher to support cafeteria operations in our school kitchen. You will wash dishes, sanitize trays, and assist with food service tasks with a friendly, customer-focused approach.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift up to 45 pounds, and the willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with strong teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous food service or cafeteria experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize cafeteria trays, kitchenware, pots and pans while maintaining school nutrition standards
• As needed, help serve breakfast and lunch to students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and efficient manner
• As needed, help operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, steamers, mixers, and dishwashers
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, serving lines, dining areas, and food preparation equipment
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment
• Receive, inspect, and properly store food deliveries and supplies
• Follow all local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation regulations
• Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper food handling procedures
• Assist with inventory control and notify director when supplies are low, as needed
• Dispose of waste and recycling according to school procedures
• Work collaboratively with cafeteria staff, school administrators, and students to provide excellent customer service
• Assist in setting up and tearing down service area
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or Administration
