Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker for a middle school/elementary site. Shifts run 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, roughly 175 days per year, paying $15.05 per hour. The role supports an effective nutrition program and requires adherence to USDA standards.

Responsibilities include stock rotation, kitchen sanitation, inventory support, and cooperating with staff, inspectors, and vendors. GED or HS diploma required; ServSafe preferred; valid driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of USDA Meal Pattern Requirements and Nutrition Standards.
• Ability to perform various nutrition positions within the kitchen or work site.
• Familiar with health regulations and sanitation codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering an effective and efficient nutrition service program for the kitchen to which assigned.
• Maintain compliance with state and local health regulations.
• Interact professionally with students, staff, inspectors, vendors and delivery personnel.
• Assist with organization and rotation of stock and stocking of delivered products.
• Cleans kitchen and serving areas, including dishes, sweeping, and mopping.
• Report accidents to the kitchen site manager and attend meetings as needed.
