Job summary

Mercer County Special Services School District in Hamilton, New Jersey, seeks a Part-Time Buildings and Grounds Groundsperson (Hourly) to perform groundskeeping as needed. The role requires a NJ driver’s license, experience in grounds maintenance for school, commercial, or estate properties, and the ability to operate various grounds equipment.

An internal criminal history check and proof of legal work status are required. Position is hourly and as-needed; starting date is immediate.

Qualifications

New Jersey driver's license required.
Experience in school, commercial, or estate grounds.
Working knowledge of operating and maintaining grounds equipment.
Criminal history check and proof of US citizenship or legal alien required.

Responsibilities

Operate tractors, rotary and zero-turn grass cutting equipment and other grounds maintenance tools.
Mow lawn areas, edge sidewalks, trim trees and shrubs.
Line athletic fields.
Perform other duties to ensure safety of students, staff and public on district grounds and facilities.
Keep district vehicle clean and in safe operating condition.
Attend meetings, trainings, and trainings as directed by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds.
Prepare written logs and materials as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
