Job summary

• Perform other duties to ensure safety of students, staff and public on district grounds and facilities.
• Keep district vehicle clean and in safe operating condition.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and trainings as directed by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds.
• Prepare written logs and materials as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

JOB DESCRIPTION

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS GROUNDSPERSON, Hourly as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid New Jersey driver's license,
• Experience in school, commercial, or estate grounds
• Working knowledge and skill in operating and maintaining various grounds equipment.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITY

The Groundsperson reports directly to the Manager of Buildings and Grounds.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Hourly as needed.

EVALUATION

The Groundsperson shall be evaluated by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds, in writing, at least once each year. The evaluation shall be based in part on the performance of the responsibilities indicated in this position description. See Policy 4220.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates tractors, rotary and zero turn grass cutting equipment and other grounds maintenance tools required for grounds or landscape maintenance
• Mows lawn areas, edges sidewalks, trims and prunes tree and shrubs
• Lines athletic fields
• Performs other tasks as necessary and/or requested to ensure the safety of students, staff and members of the public using the district's grounds and facilities.
• Keeps assigned district vehicle clean and in good, safe operating
• Participate in meetings, workshops and trainings as directed by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds and
• Prepares written materials for logs and
• Performs other duties and responsibilities incidental to the position or as assigned by an appropriate
