Job summary

Lincoln Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Custodian to provide a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility for students, staff, and the public. Duties include daily cleaning, event support, and routine maintenance in a school setting.

Position is part-time with a pay rate of $19 per hour. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and custodial experience preferred; fingerprints and residency/work authorization may be required after offer.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety practices and use of custodial equipment.
• Ability to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Reliability, punctuality and commitment to a safe, clean learning environment.
• Fingerprinting and background checks required after offer.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Keep buildings neat and clean, including entryways and play areas, per schedules.
• Shovel/sand/clear walks, driveways, and steps as needed.
• Check doors and panic hardware during occupancy hours.
• Raise/lower flags at scheduled times.
• Sweep, dust, and vacuum assigned areas daily.
• Report major repairs and maintain building safety and security.
