Job summary

Hyde County Schools Ocracoke School in Ocracoke, NC is seeking a part-time Custodian to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks. The role includes minor maintenance of HVAC equipment, following cleaning schedules, and ensuring a safe environment for staff and students.

Qualifications

• Some experience in custodial work.
• Must have or be able to obtain a CDL and drive a bus within 4 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, strips, waxes and buffs floor surfaces.
• Cleans restroom areas and replenishes supplies.
• Cleans windows, walls, woodwork, blinds and light fixtures.
• Dusts and cleans desks and other furniture.
• Empties trash, deposits recyclables.
• Picks up debris outside, shovels snow or applies de-icing compounds as needed.
• Replaces burned out light bulbs.
• Prepares requisition forms for supplies for coming week.
• Sets traps for rodents and pests as needed.
