Job summary

Washington Elementary School District is seeking a Crossing Guard in the Phoenix area to ensure student safety at crosswalks and school zones. You will direct and monitor pedestrians, assist with traffic control, and uphold district policies during the 194-day calendar.

The role requires completion of the district training program and possession of an IVP fingerprint clearance card. It is a part-time position with a starting date immediate and pay ranging from $15.15 to $17.12 per hour.

Qualifications

• Completion of District Crossing Guard Training Program prior to performing duties.
• Obtain and maintain a valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
• Preferred: High School diploma or GED and one year of crossing guard experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs, monitors, and assists students and community members to cross at established crosswalks and school zones.
• Alerts motorists to the presence of students and community by displaying appropriate signs and stops traffic to cross students and community members.
• Maintains discipline by monitoring student behavior and taking action per policies and procedures.
• Places and removes signs for school zones per the crosswalk operating agreement; wears reflective clothing.
• Attends district/school meetings and safety trainings; performs other duties as assigned.
