Job summary

City-of-Ann-Arbo is seeking a Crossing Guard to help children safely cross streets near schools. You will stop traffic as needed and assist students across the crosswalk, reporting any unsafe situations to school authorities.

You will also record license numbers of vehicles that violate crossing rules and assist students who are lost or injured. Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to work independently with sound

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work courteously with others and the public.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Sound judgment.
• Knowledge of traffic control devices and school/pedestrian regulations.
• Experience with children or the public preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stopp within crossing area and help students cross safely.
• Report unsafe observations, incidents or accidents to school authorities.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding crossing rules.
• Assist students who are lost, injured, or need help.
• Follow guidelines and regulations governing student crossings.
