Job summary

Layton City in Utah is hiring a School Crossing Guard to report to a predetermined location and help children cross the roadway safely. You will instruct school children on safe crossing techniques and promote the City's mission while following transportation regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable, dependable and mentally alert.
• Must be able to use good judgement to determine safe crossing.
• Able to interact with the public and school children.

Responsibilities

• Assist children in crossing the roadway safely at designated locations.
• Promote the City's mission and follow DOT regulations for school crossing zones.
• Weather conditions may require working outdoors and moving about the crossing.

• Must promote and follow the City's Mission Statement, values and expectations.
• Must learn and comply with all regulations set by the Department of Transportation in regards to school crossing zones
• Must be reliable, dependable and mentally alert.
• Must be able to use good judgement in determining when it is safe to cross the road.
• Must be able to interact and communicate well with the public, co-workers and particularly school children.
• Must be willing and able to work and move about the crossing in all types of weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
