Job summary

Genuine Foods in Hayward, CA is seeking a Part-Time/On Call Cook to support our school dining team. This role is ideal for someone who wants flexible shifts and the opportunity to build culinary skills while serving students and educators with wholesome, scratch-made meals.

You’ll follow our recipes and food safety standards, prep and cook on demand, and help with kitchen upkeep. Weekend availability is required, and you’ll join a supportive team dedicated to trust, teamwork and delivering great

Qualifications

Weekend availability required.
Flexible schedule and ability to respond to shift requests.
Team-oriented and able to adapt quickly in different kitchen settings.
At least 1 year of scratch-cooking experience.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and level-headedness.
Punctual and able to follow the time and attendance policy.
Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
Interest in and commitment to Genuine Foods’ mission to use food to enhance students’ minds, bodies, and happiness.
Must be able to work in a school environment.

Responsibilities

Pick up shifts as needed, including covering for team members who call out.
Follow food safety standards at all times.
Cook and prep food accurately based on recipes and specifications provided by the Chef/Genuine Foods.
Coordinate with team members to make sure all food is ready on time for service.
Keep a clean working environment and help the team with additional cleaning duties.
Keep your area stocked and organized.
Perform any additional duties as assigned.
