Job summary

Wayzata Cafés Assistant at Wayzata High School is a part-time, non-benefit eligible role within the district’s food service team. The position involves preparing and serving meals, following standardized recipes, and maintaining safe, efficient operations in a school kitchen.

Starting wage is $24.18 per hour with approximately 4 hours per day (10:30am–2:30pm). Internal applicants have priority; external candidates may be considered if not filled internally.

Qualifications

• Must have previous related experience working in an institutional kitchen.
• Must have experience with quantity food production.
• Basic math and computational skills are required.
• Must be able to communicate directions, ideas and concepts.
• Ability to perform computer entry and use of institutional food service equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains working knowledge of department policies and procedures.
• Confers with supervisor to understand work priorities and information.
• Maintains cooperative workplace relationships.
• Performs food preparation duties according to recipes and procedures.
• Performs additional duties related to preparation, serving and cleanup of meals for events.
• Attends in-service or district training classes as required.
• Keeps supervisor informed of important matters to minimize downtime or safety problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
