Job summary

Chartwells K-12 in Portland Public Schools is hiring immediately for part-time Food Service Worker positions at 1110 Ionia Road, Portland, MI 48875.

Schedule is part-time, Monday through Friday; hours vary to follow the school calendar. Prior food service experience is preferred, and training is provided. This role involves preparing and serving food, maintaining safety standards and delivering friendly service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience is preferred.
• Ability to follow safety standards and maintain sanitation.
• Willingness to learn and train in Chartwells K-12 procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations while following safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
