Job summary

Ohio County Schools Central Office in Beaver Dam, KY seeks a substitute bus driver to transport students on scheduled routes and special trips. Must have a valid Kentucky CDL with passenger endorsement and meet district health and safety requirements.

The role is part-time and reports to the Director of Transportation. Training will be provided as required by Kentucky DOE and district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrates competent language skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with children.
• Participates in training programs per Kentucky DOE and local district.
• Has one year experience operating a motor vehicle.
• Meets criminal record check and five-year driving check requirements.
• Meets health requirements as per district policy.
• Valid Kentucky CDL Class B license with passenger endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus on designated routes per time schedules.
• Maintain order and discipline among students while driving.
• Keep the bus clean and safe in operating condition.
• Recognize equipment malfunctions and take appropriate action.
• Learn designated routes, stops, and traffic hazards.
• Maintain routine records and inspections.
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Follow all rules, regulations, and procedures.
