Job summary

HoneyTree Early Learning Centers (HTELC) is seeking a part-time CDL School Bus Driver/Van Driver in Roanoke, VA. The role ensures safe transport of children, adherence to DOT regulations, and precise route planning with GPS tools.

The position requires a Virginia CDL with school bus/passenger endorsement, prior experience with large vehicles, and a clean driving record. Responsibilities include pre-trip checks, loading/unloading children, and coordinating with management.

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia driver’s license.
• CDL with School Bus/Passenger Endorsement (CDL Buses).
• Experience operating a large capacity vehicle.
• Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes using maps and GPS technology to meet schedules.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
• Assist with loading and unloading of children.
• Communicate effectively with management to coordinate transportation activities.
• Maintain a clear driving record, ensure company insurability, and pass background checks. Must be available Monday through Friday during the school year.
