Job summary

First Student is hiring a Part-Time School Bus Driver in Tulare, CA. You will safely transport students to and from school, with morning pickups and afternoon returns, and may take on field trips as needed.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, is 21+, and offers flexible split shifts with training provided, plus benefits and growth opportunities across 540 locations. No nights or summers required; paid training; medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match; employee discounts

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Part-time schedule with split AM/PM routes.
• DOT drug testing applies to safety-sensitive positions.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading; assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or behavior.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
