Job summary

Horizon Education Centers in Lorain, OH is seeking a Classroom Aide/School Age Driver for driving 14-passenger minibus and 6-passenger vans after school. The role includes supervising children and assisting with attendance/transportation documentation from 2pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday.

Compensation includes a $13.75/hour classroom aide rate plus $3.00/hour for driving; CDL not required. Opportunities exist at multiple Lorain-area centers with DCY licensing compliance and teamwork with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be 21+ and have a clean driving record (no more than 4 points) to drive Horizon; training provided.
• Some experience or interest in child development preferred.
• Willingness to complete required training, DCY licensing rules, and professional development.
• Must adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments.
• We seek someone prompt, reliable, and with a genuine love of children.
• Must lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and pass background checks and medical screening.

Responsibilities

• Drive 14-passenger school minibus and/or 6-passenger minivans. (No CDL required)
• Care for and supervise children at all times in accordance with licensing standards
• Work as part of a team with teachers, leads, staff and director
• Assist in documentation for attendance and transportation services
• Build positive relationships with children, families and staff with a cheerful, professional attitude
• Seasonal field trips and supervision of children during events
• Bus inspections, mileage log maintenance, and bus cleaning
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality of personnel and family information
• All other duties as needed/assigned
