Job summary

Henderson County Schools East Henderson High in East Flat Rock, NC seeks a Part-Time Bus Driver for 10 months at about 17 hours per week (3.4 hours per day, AM & PM routes). Responsibilities include transporting students, performing inspections, and maintaining safety and discipline on board.

Requires a High School diploma or GED and at least 6 months driving experience, plus a valid NC CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements. DOT drug test and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 6 months of driving experience with a licensed operator’s motor vehicle.
• Must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus endorsement in North Carolina.
• Pre-employment DOT Drug Test and Criminal/DMV check required.
• Clear criminal background check and safe driving record required.
• Health Certificate and compliance with NC DMV requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the school bus.
• Transport students to and from school, and to activities/events.
• Clean bus interior and exterior; fuel as needed.
• Follow traffic laws and safety regulations for school bus operations.
• Ensure passenger safety and maintain discipline on the bus.
• Record mileage and maintain required logs/reports.
• Complete related duties as assigned.
