Job summary

First Student, Inc. is hiring part-time School Bus Drivers in Augusta, ME. The role includes morning pickup, safe transport of students, and optional extra trips. A limited-time sign-on bonus is offered along with hands-on training to new drivers.

Qualified candidates must have a CDL with P and S endorsements and Air Brake qualification, plus at least one year of school bus experience. Training and benefits are provided, with flexible, split shifts and 6 hours guaranteed daily.

Qualifications

• Current CDL with Passenger (P) endorsement and School Bus (S) endorsement with Air Brake qualification (no restrictions).
• Minimum of one year of school bus driving experience.
• Training and guidance provided to help you succeed as a First Student driver.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• supervise boarding and unloading at stops and assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain bus order and conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Report issues promptly and keep bus clean and sanitary.
• Follow all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or behavior.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service on every route.
