First Student Augusta, ME is hiring part-time school bus drivers to start each day with morning pickups and return students home in the afternoon. Training is provided and experience is not required.

The role includes supervising boarding, helping with seatbelts, performing pre-trip inspections, and communicating with families and school staff. A valid driver's license and DOT safety rules knowledge are expected; benefits include insurance, 401(k) and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Part-time schedule with summers off.
• English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading; assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus and conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
• Report mechanical issues and keep the bus clean.
• Communicate with parents and school staff about delays or behavior.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
