Job summary

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist to assess and provide therapy for students across assigned school sites. You will develop IEP-based goals and work under the Director of Special Education, collaborating with teachers and families to support student success.

The role involves direct treatment, report writing, and participation in IEP meetings, with a focus on improving students’ oral communication within diverse school settings.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from an ASHA accredited university with a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) or working toward completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Knowledge of speech-language report writing.
  • Knowledge of formal speech-language assessments.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to different school settings, procedures, and staffs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • A belief that all students deserve a world class education which can be achieved through education reform.
  • Nice to have: exceptional student achievement in a high-performing charter network/CMO.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct treatment to students with speech-language impairments.
  • Develop and implement educationally-based IEP communication goals using a variety of service delivery models to support the classroom curriculum.
  • Follow and implement treatment plans.
  • Communicate with families of students on assigned caseload regarding progress toward IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure that students meet the goals outlined in their IEPs.
  • Provide individualized classroom strategies to facilitate specific communication skills.
  • Participate as a member of the child study team.
  • Document student progress towards meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Participate in IEP meetings of students on assigned caseload.
  • Conduct formal assessments.
