Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Erie is hiring a Part-Time School Age Before / After School Teacher for our childcare program. This role offers weekends off and a chance to help children learn in a supportive, energetic environment.

You will work 25-30 hours per week across multiple Erie, PA locations, with pay up to $16.48 per hour based on experience. Applicants must be 18+, have a HS diploma, and be willing to complete CDA training.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in Secondary Education or 2500 hours of documented experience (i.e. Babysitting, Etc)
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to pass a physical.
• Negative TB test.
• Must enroll in a CDA (child development associate) training program within the first year of employment if not already attending or having completed secondary education)
• Love for children.

Responsibilities

• Assist the child care program director in ensuring a positive and enriching experience for all children.
• Provide proper supervision and discipline for the children in line with YMCA standards.
• Assist with enrollment of new children and onboarding of each child and family.
• Help implement lesson plans based on child development principles.
• Keep classroom records up to date and ensure cleanliness and compliance with regulations.
• Attend and participate in family events and program activities.
