Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach SXP 150–756 Applied Music – Saxophone Lesson for Spring 2026-27. The position requires in-person engagement on campus and involves weekly private saxophone instruction to undergraduate students.

The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in saxophone performance with college-level teaching experience and demonstrated ability to lead a saxophone ensemble.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in saxophone performance.
• Experience teaching studio saxophone at the collegiate level.
• Experience leading a traditional saxophone ensemble (preferred).

Aufgaben

• Set up lesson schedule and teach weekly private lessons.
• Build and maintain the saxophone studio.
• Develop and/or update a class syllabus.
• Prepare lectures, projects or other student assignments.
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
• Present instruction based on competencies and course levels.
• Meet all designated class periods.
• Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades.
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
• Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
• Build a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
