Job summary

AC Hotel San Diego Downtown Gaslamp Quarter is seeking a Part Time Server to join our Sunbird Roof Top Pool dining team. You will deliver attentive, personalized service and help create memorable experiences for guests in a vibrant setting.

Responsibilities include opening and pre-shift duties, welcoming guests, describing menus and beverage options, taking orders, and collaborating with culinary and bar teams to ensure seamless service.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant serving experience.
• An engaging personality with a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Strong food and beverage knowledge, including wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails.
• Excellent suggestive selling and guest engagement skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Team-first attitude with a commitment to exceptional guest experiences.
• California Food Handler Card and RBS certification, or ability to obtain as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the restaurant for service by completing opening and pre-shift duties.
• Welcome guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
• Present menus and confidently describe food, beverage, wine, beer, and cocktail selections.
• Guide guests through the menu with knowledgeable recommendations.
• Take orders accurately and confirm dietary needs.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly while maintaining standards.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and anticipate needs.
• Collaborate with culinary and bar teams to ensure seamless service.
• Process payments and present checks promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized dining area and adhere to health standards.
• Support team members to maintain high service levels.
