UT Health East Texas seeks a rotating shift, part-time One Call Patient Logistics Coordinator (RN) in Tyler, TX. You will apply clinical judgment to admit and transfer patients, coordinate with facilities and physicians, and ensure timely, appropriate patient placement across the system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current Multi-State Licensure as an RN.
• 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Must be proficient in EMTALA.
• Preferred: 3 years of ED or Critical Care experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient admissions across the health system with clinical judgment.
• Perform initial admission screenings using standardized criteria.
• Coordinate transfers and admissions to appropriate care settings.
• Communicate with physicians, nursing staff and other departments to optimize patient flow.
• Support bed management and hospital operations to reduce delays.
• Monitor barriers to throughput and report findings to leadership.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
• Educate staff on level of care and transfer issues.
• Act as liaison between referring facilities and hospital teams.
