Job summary

UT Health East Texas in Tyler, TX is seeking a Night Shift, full-time Patient Logistics Supervisor RN to oversee the Patient Logistics Center operations and staff, ensuring smooth transfers and bed capacity management. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in a nursing compact licensure participating state.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role.
• 3+ years of clinical experience in acute care with supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated skills in problem solving, analytical and critical thinking, prioritization, negotiation, conflict resolution, proactive decision making.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships within the department and with customers.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral, written, and electronic formats with personnel at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the Patient Logistics Center functions are maintained during all operation hours with oversight of staff and processes.
• Collaborates with Regional Director, hospital staff, physicians and leadership to improve patient transfers.
• Identifies barriers to throughput, trends data and drives process improvements.
• Demonstrates support for hospital customer service initiatives and protects program integrity.
• Coordinates resources to deliver efficient patient transfer services and bed placement.
• Manages Access Center functions including ED/inpatient transfers, admissions, transport, and capacity management.
• Ensures EMTALA compliance across operations.
• Manages staffing and scheduling within productivity and budget guidelines.
• Maintains quality and performance metrics within department operations.
• Communicates effectively with customers at all levels.
• Conducts quality reviews and documents staff interactions with customers.
• Designs and implements QA and process improvement initiatives.
• Investigates and resolves service gaps and process issues promptly.
• Performs employee evaluations and provides feedback.
• Supports Access Center functions to ensure efficient processes.
• Serves as a role model and mentor for staff.
