Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL seeks a part-time Registered Nurse (0.6 FTE) to provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care and support optimal patient outcomes. You will assess patients, plan and intervene, evaluate progress, and engage patients and families in care decisions.

You will supervise LPNs and UAPs, delegate tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, advocate for patients, and contribute to a culture of excellence in autonomous, accountable nursing practice.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred at time of hire.
• Professional Certification: Nursing board certification preferred at time of hire.
• BSN Requirement: Nurses hired after April 30, 2014 who do not have a BSN must obtain BSN within three years of hire.
• Board Certification Requirement: Nurses hired after June 30, 2011 who do not hold board certification must obtain certification within two years of hire, or by eligibility date for more than two years.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Identify alterations in health and assess responses to health problems.
• Care Planning & Intervention: Develop and implement individualized nursing interventions.
• Evaluation: Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and modify plan of care.
• Patient & Family Engagement: Involve patient, family, and significant others in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Leadership & Supervision: Supervise and direct care by LPNs and UAPs.
• Delegation: Assign and delegate patient care responsibilities.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure comprehensive care.
• Professional Practice: Participate in unit-based activities promoting a positive work environment.
• Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients considering individual needs and goals.
• Commitment to Excellence: Provide care aligning with mission of excellent patient care and autonomous, accountable nursing.
