Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide and coordinate comprehensive, patient-centered care. Qualifications

• BSN preferred at time of hire.
• Nurses hired without a BSN must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• Professional nursing board certification preferred at time of hire.
• Nurses hired without professional nursing board certification must obtain certification after two (2) years of hire, or upon reaching the certification eligibility date when more than two years of experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and identifies actual and potential health concerns.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing interventions and plans of care.
• Involves patients, families, and significant others in care planning and decision-making whenever possible.
• Supervises and directs care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.
• Assigns and delegates care to qualified members of the healthcare team.
• Coordinates patient care across professional disciplines.
• Advocates for patients and promotes safe, compassionate, and individualized care.
• Participates in unit-based activities that support a positive and professional work environment.
• Demonstrates autonomous and accountable nursing practice while promoting teamwork, trust, and collaboration.
